Bring the first response
to the diver.
A sting can occur before a diver has access to surface first-aid equipment. This project brings a portable heat source to the point of use.
The device combines a sealed electrical system with a flexible liquid-filled contact membrane. Its intended application is local thermal first response to injuries involving thermolabile venom from aquatic animals.
Developed for the diving and marine safety sectors, with further product engineering and industrialization to be completed with an industrial partner.

Magnetic activation
A magnet carried by the cover operates the sealed magnetic switch when the cover is moved into its operating position.
Conforming thermal contact
An electric heater warms the diathermic liquid inside an elastic membrane that adapts to the application area.
Integrated power and signalling
The disclosed architecture includes battery power, PTC heating, wireless charging and LED indicators.
